Students' Blog Day 3
ORDESA NATIONAL PARK: LET IT SNOW
First of all we watched a documentary about Ordesa National Park. In Spain there are 15 national parks and this one was the second one. It is one hundred years old. Then, we visited a room with some extinct animals, like the bucardo, the dodo and the Tasmanian tiger.
We think that the documentary was interesting, but we preferred the room about the animals. The best thing was the views, with the snow!
FEELING NATURE WITH THE 5 SENSES
We had very good weather this morning. It was sunny. We went to walk next to the river. It was very funny to play with the snow. We made a snowman, his name was Antoñito. He passed away as he lost his head. We will miss you Antoñito! 😁
Today we have visited Canfranc International train station. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The train station is between France and Spain. In 1970 the train derailed and no more trains can go to France. We think that it was great and finally we enjoyed it a lot.
THE ARRIVAL OF THE GÜIXAS
We saw stalagmites and stalagtites. They looked like octopus, gellyfish and macarroni. We learned that it takes one hundred years for it to grow one centimeter. There were also many bats which were sleeping because of hibernation. The cave had a hole on the ceiling where people used to grow güixas.
From our point of view the cave looks like ice age and we really liked the bats.
